A truly, truly exceptional Rover Maestro 1.3 Clubman that has covered just 5,353 miles since new. First registered in 1990, this remarkable little car has got 19 service stamps in the service book, and 16 of these are from the initial supplying dealer!
We would go as far as saying that we feel that you will not find a better, more cherished and pampered example. This really is a remarkable piece of British Motoring Heritage.
First registered by Lex Mead of Chelmsford on the 26th October 1990, this car genuinely looks like the day it left the showroom. Supplying dealer number plates front and rear, tax disc holder and rear window sticker are all as new and un-faded. The Flame red paintwork is exceptional and bright and the panel gaps are as good as we have seen on one of these. Door shuts, frames and hinges are unmarked. The roof skin joints are remarkable. The sills and chassis rails are as new and factory spot welds are clearly visible for all to see. The colour-coded front grille is free from any marks or chips and the Maestro badge is bright and as new. All four wheel arches are completely rust and chip free and the factory spot welds are clearly visible. The boot floor is unmarked and all factory sealer is evident. Dealer fitted mud flaps front and rear are scuff and damage free. The original head lights, indicators and rear lamp lenses are crystal clear and undamaged. The factory glass is excellent. Plastic bumper corners and factory applied Clubman decals remain damage free and un-faded. A small factory blemish around the rear windscreen wiper arm was rectified under warranty and is completely insignificant. All door rubbers and weather strips are excellent. This is clearly a car that has been garaged and cherished since day one and never seen a British winter outdoors.
Internally, the Flint cloth seats are showing zero signs of wear. The foam is completely intact and the cloth is stretch free. The door cards, dashboard, and all plastics are free from cracks or damage. The carpet has been protected by genuine Rover Maestro rubber mats since new and the Maestro emblem remains free from wear. The original Phillips R570 radio/cassette is fully functional and the security code remains within the file. The rear parcel shelf is completely straight and un-faded and both of the string hangers remain. The boot carpet is free from any wear or stains and all boot plastics are as new. Two rubber floor mats have been placed on top of the original and unused spare wheel...just to stop the wheel indenting the boot carpet!
The engine bay presents in a beautiful condition. A light coating of clear wax oil has been applied to the inner wings, bulkhead front cross member and slam panel. All factory applied stickers remain in place and are preserved.

The current V5 registration document is present and shows just 1 previous keeper. It remained with it's first owner from new in 1990 until 2009. It has remained with it's second owner from 2009 until now. All original owner handbooks are present and contained within the plastic Lex Mead wallet. Both original keys are present. With a current mot until May 2019, this example is ready to be used and enjoyed. If taken to car shows, we are more than confident that the lucky new owner would be presented with many trophies along the way. It's simplicity, originality and condition will not be bettered!
